On Sunday, June 22nd, St. John's celebration of Corpus Christi was a joyful event.  Despite extreme wind and high temperatures, parishioners joined the Eucharistic procession around the church grounds raising their voices in praise and worship.

Sunday June 22nd come celebrate Corpus Christi, The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Immediately following the 11:00 am Mass we will have a procession with Christ around the church grounds, bringing Jesus to all four corners of the world.  First Communion children are invited to wear their First Communion attire and lead the procession. Final Benediction will be prayed in the church. All are invited to stay for lunch in the parish hall. St. John's Faith Formation program and Parish is supporting Mary's Meals this Lent. The Vision of Mary's Meals is that every child recieves one daily meal in their place of education and that all those who have more than they need, share with those who lacke eventhe most basic things.  $25.20 will feed a child every school day for an entire year.  For more information about Mary's Meals LOOK HERE or go to www.marysmealsusa.org.

The Music Coordinator facilitates the worship life of the parish community through music and liturgical planning, preparation, and coordination. Recruits and provides liturgical minister formation, and music education for parish ministers of music and liturgy. The qualified candidate will be a practicing Catholic with knowledge of scripture, liturgy and liturgical music. St. John's Caring Hearts Bereavement Team hosts "Journey Through Grief".  Journey Through Grief is a six-session group offered through UnityPoint Hospice that explores the nature of grief and the mulitfacited ways it impacts individuals. Participants will learn why grief is so difficult, identify their coping style, connect/engage with other and discover new sources of hope. Journey Through Grief is open to anyone who has experienced a loss, whether it be spouse/partner, parent, child, sibling, or any other type of significant loss due to death.  Any questions or to register contact Olivia Collins-Jones of UnityPoint at olivia.collins@unitypoint.org or 515-414-9115. The Fifth Sunday Collection June 29/30 will go to the Coats for Kids program supported by our Knights of Columbus.  The Knights are also sponsoring a Casserole Breakfast on Sunday following the 8:30 Mass.  All proceeds will support the cause.

Last week children entering grades K-4 had four faith-filled days learning about the Mystery of the Mass the the true presence of Christ is the Eucharist.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered and joyfully shared their gifts and time.
