Job Opening: Liturgy and Music Coordinator

POSITION TITLE:  Liturgy and Music Coordinator


POSITION DETAIL:  Part-Time (flexible up to 25 hours per week, hourly pay based on experience)


The Liturgy and Music Coordinator proclaims the Gospel by facilitating the worship life of the parish community. Prepares liturgies and plans music with the pastor and the Worship & Spirituality committee.


  1. Adheres to all policies, procedures, and core values of the Catholic

  2. Helps to create a positive team atmosphere with the pastor, staff, parishioners, and

  3. Attends classes/formation for music & liturgy ministers offered through the Diocese.

  4. Coordinates work schedule with other staff to maintain office hours as needed.


  1. Plans and coordinates liturgies and music for weekend Mass, Holy Days, Sacraments, weddings, funerals, and other prayer services in line with Diocesan guidelines.

  2. Provides liturgical formation, music education, and practical preparation for parish ministers of music and

  3. Recruits liturgical ministers and musicians. Communicates responsibilities and schedules training

  4. Schedules all musicians, communicates music plans, and ensures all musicians have access to

  5. Manages the ministry scheduling software to assign the liturgical ministers needed for each Mass.

  6. Works with Faith Formation staff to provide musical and liturgical resources for programming, retreats, and

  7. Provides budgetary input for the parish music program and liturgical

  8. Attends monthly Worship & Spirituality committee meetings and regular parish staff

  9. Has a working knowledge of video/sound equipment and oversees Livestream and copyright reporting, if

  10. Collaborates with other staff to maintain updated communication (website, bulletins, emails, ) of parish events.


  1. Practicing Catholic with a degree in Music preferred (or comparable experience).

  2. Proficient in at least one performance area (keyboard, choral, voice, instrument, ).

  3. Knowledge of Church music literature and ability to work with choirs, vocalists, and
