Stations of the Cross: Every Wednesday during Lent!

The Stations of the Cross will be held in the church beginning Wednesday February 21st through March 21st at 7:00.  All are invited to attend.

On Wednesday March 28th our High School Youth Ministry will lead a special version of stations of the cross called: Shadow Stations.  This will begin in the church at 7:30.  We will not have faith formation classes on this night so families can attend this special Holy Week Prayer Service together.

Parents play the major role in the growth in faith of their children. They are encouraged to be involved in the classes and programs we offer for their children’s formation.

Call to Discipleship: Are you Called to be a Catechist?

The ministry of catechesis is greatly important.  The work of a Catechist or Assistant Catechist is a beautiful ministry in which one is called by Christ.  The call to be a Catechist is a call to discipleship:  to build relationships with children and families and share our Catholic faith. Contact the Faith Formation Director to learn how you can be involved.

Second graders celebrate the sacrament of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.  Parents and catechists are involved in the preparation process.  The beginning of the year focuses on Reconciliation and receiving the gift of God’s Mercy.  The second half the children continue their journey with Christ learning more about the Mass and Eucharist.

First Eucharist Retreat: Sunday April 15th, 10:30-12:00. Join us for 9:00 Sunday Mass and enjoy a donut before our retreat begins in the church at 10:30.

Our First Communion Mass will be Saturday April 28th at 4:30.

St. John’s Confirmation is a 2-year preparation process during the 9th and 10th grade year. Confirmation Candidates immerse themselves in group study, retreat experiences, service projects and personal prayer.  For more information  contact Jacque Seidl, the Youth Minister/Confirmation Coordinator, at saintjcym@aol.com

Please contact the Faith Formation Director if your child has not received his or her sacraments.

High School Youth Ministry helps to inspire and encourage young adults to live their Catholic faith and hopes to bring them into a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church. This is done through Wednesday night WOW (What’s On Wednesday) sessions, retreats, socials, and service projects.

Vacation Bible School is a week long program that takes place in July this year. It is provided in cooperation with other area churches. Children entering Kindergarten through 5th grade will be able to register soon.  Watch for special Middle School opportunities plus high school and adult programming too. For more information or to volunteer, Contact the Director of Faith Formation for details and dates. saintjc3re@aol.com

Adult Faith Formation groups meet throughout the school year.  All are welcome. Check the bulletin or our website for more details.
